RNP was originally set up to translate and publish Russian popular natural history literature -
hence the name 'Russian Nature Press'. The aim was to interest and inform naturalists and
conservationists in what was happening in the CIS countries.
This aim was later expanded to include assistance to naturalists, ecologists and conservationists in those countries by encouraging scientific cooperation between the CIS and other countries. This will be achieved mainly by a free information service on the internet (see Directory of Ecology & Conservation in Russia/CIS).
RNP is a non-profit company limited by guarantee. Its directors are Dr David Boddington and
Dr Geoffrey Harper (for further details, please click Lecturer Network).
The members of the company are the directors and Marianne Boddington, Penelope Kemp, Richard Lines, Dr Jaleel Miyan (Manchester University), David Prynn and Michael Wilson (Edward Grey Institute, Oxford University).
